Is a Lymphatic massage necessary after liposuction.

Lymphatic drainage massage is a treatment that stimulates and increases the rate of removal of waste products, toxins and excess fluid from the body’s tissues. It also increases the exchange of oxygen and other nutrients in the body’s cells, improving the overall function of the body and ensures that their patients get the best results from their procedure and see the results as quickly as possible. Lymphatic massages are performed daily or every another day for approximately 8 to 10 days depending on whether the patients are local or from out of town or if the patients. Majority of our patients prefer a massage every day once a day in order to see the best results. We do suggest that if your surgeon gives you a different plan to follow it. We understand that every patients healing process and we always put their health first.

So why is lymphatic massage so important following liposuctio?. The areas that are given liposuction treatment often experience lumpiness ,hardness, inflammation and in rare cases they have developed fibrosis, This is especially true in the abdominal region. These side effects are enhanced if the liposuction is combined with other procedures to contour the body. Needless to say, people who get liposuction are very concerned about their physical appearance. They do not want to spend a lot of money on a liposuction procedure, only to have unsightly lumps appear on their abdomen. This is where lymphatic massage comes in. The lymphatic Massage accelerates recovery and decreases the chance for irregularities, lumps or bumps, and scar tissue formation, which can all affect the final cosmetic outcome. It also helps the skin to tighten and conform to the new body shape and sculpted musculature during the liposculpture procedure.
